Zafer Demirkol began programming at the age of 16, writing his first “Hello World” program on a Sinclair computer connected to a television. He studied Electrical Engineering at Yildiz Technical University and started his professional career immediately after graduation. In 1999, he left the company where he served as general manager and went to the University of New South Wales in Australia to study ``English for Business Communication.``

He was introduced to ASP (Active Server Pages) at the University of New South Wales and, upon returning to Turkey, published the first ASP book to break sales records. Another one of his books, Coding for Kids, became a pioneering and guiding resource for teaching coding to children.

Zafer Demirkol was honored as a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) for three terms. He has taught and continues to teach in various IT departments at Yeditepe, Maltepe, Bahçeşehir, and Medipol Universities. With 36 years of programming experience, he shares his knowledge with young developers through books, articles, and training programs, and provides professional-level education.

He is one of the founders of the “Bahçeşehir Colleges Artificial Intelligence Center” and a member of the “European Artificial Intelligence Alliance.”
